SpeakOUT – Dr. Brandi Blessett – Law Enforcement and LGBTQ People of Color

In this episode of SpeakOUT, Angela Giampolo speaks with Dr. Brandi Blessett of Rutgers–Camden about the $150,000.00 grant that she and fellow co-research, Marist College researcher Tia Sherèe Gaynor, won to explore the relationship between law enforcement and LGBTQ people of color through their experiences. Over the course of two years, they will interview LGBTQ people of color and elicit existing knowledge about the experiences that LGBTQ people of color have while interacting with public institutions in general, and law enforcement officers and agencies specifically.
